The village of Nathuakhan lies in the heart of the fruit basket of Kumaon. There are numerous easy walks, and hikes and treks for the more adventurous. If you want to explore the area by car, you can check out Mukteshwar (30 minutes), the Mahesh Khan wildlife reserve (45 minutes), Sat-tal and Naukuchiyatal (an hour), Nainital (1 1/2 hours), Almora (1 1/2 hours), Ranikhet (2 1/2 hours), the ancient temples at Jageshwar (2 1/2 hours) and several other places of scenic, religious and historical interest.
